Doesn't detect Logitech QuickCam Pro4000 on Vista

Postby cehrnow on Fri Oct 03, 2008 11:16 pm

Built the twain_sample on XP and this detected and worked fine on XP. Then built this into a setup project and installed on Vista - installs and runs okay but does not detect the QuickCam Pro 4000. The QCP4000 is detected and works okay in Vista using the Logitech software. Only sources displayed are the 4 x WIA-USB sources which relate to memory Cards. How do I get Vista to see the camera ?

My two cents
According to this ....http://forums.quickcamteam.net/showthread.php?tid=96

Logitech does not support twain (or WIA) anymore for their webcams.
They only support DirectShow.

With no TWAIN driver you cannot use GdPicture.

Time to find a Camera that supports Twain under Vista or program your application using DirectShow.
